Nominations for the 2023 APRA Music Awards are in. APRA celebrates Australian musicians and publishers who have achieved high distinction and success in their fields.
King Stingray takes the lead with their hit song ‘Lupa’, receiving a nod for Song of the Year. Roy Kellaway and Yirrŋa Gotjiringu Yunupingu from the band are also nominated in the Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year category.
Daniel Johns, Julia Jacklin, Flume, and the late Archie Roach are also contenders for Song of the Year with their tracks ‘I Feel Electric’, ‘Lydia Wears a Cross’, ‘Say Nothing’ and ‘One Song’, respectively.
In the Most Performed Australian Work category, Vance Joy, Ruel, Dean Lewis, RÜFÜS DU SOL, and The Kid LAROI are contending at the forefront. Joining them are Gang of Youths, Sycco, Vika & Linda, Morgan Evans, Peking Duk, Hilltop Hoods, Baker Boy, Miiesha, Becca Hatch, Cosmo’s Midnight, Midnight Oil, The Chats and many more.
Needless to say, it’s gonna be an exciting competition.
The APRA Music Awards will take place at the ICC Eora/Sydney on April 27.
